Real snowflake macro photo: large stellar dendrite crystal, captured on dark woolen fabric in natural light. Version with blurred background.
This is one of most beautiful stellar dendrite snowflakes that i've captured past winter, but it was hard to process because of serious problems with aligning shots (wind shift and rotate this crystal when i've captured photo series). This snow crystal is large, around 5-6 millimeters from tip to tip. I like this crystal's ornate "design", and especially high detailed arms (they remind me six sharp swords, pointing inward).
8 identical photos, captured as fast series, was averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio. Background: dark woolen fabric, natural light (grey cloudy sky), external optics Helios 44M-5, January 2013, Moscow, Russia.
