Big snowflake of fernlike dendrite type with pretty symmetry, six complex arms with thin side branches and glossy, 3D surface. Most snowflakes of this type are large enough to be seen in all details with naked eye, especially if you will look at them on contrast background.
Snowflake was captured on glass with blue and white lighting from angle: this scheme creates smooth color gradient on background and colorful facets of the crystal, making it look glossy and transparent, revealing inner structure and 3D details on surface. Macro setup: Canon Powershot A650is and extra lens Helios 44, mounted reversely in front of built-in camera optics.
