This is real snowflakes: large stellar dendrites with long, ornate arms and complex inner structure. The difference in size that you see here is also real: all four snow crystals was photographed from exactly same distance, and i do not re-sized them at processing stage.
Originally these snowflakes were captured on dark gray woolen fabric, but i decided to make version on pure black background. You can find original photos in my galleries "All snowflakes" and "Dark snowflakes".
