Description
I borrowed this title from sci-fi book, written by amazing author Samuel R. Delany.
This is cluster of two stellar dendrite snowflakes: they falls together on my dark wool background, and all i just set right angle for camera. Fortunately, this small cluster remains flat, and it completely fits in focus.
I like thin, elegant and complex structure of these two snow crystals, and their difference in shape and size, too.
This small group was captured at dark woolen fabric in diffused light of gray cloudy sky, January 2014 in Moscow. 7 identical RAW photos was taken as quick series, and averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio of this image.
I also processed another variant of this photo (with my usual blue color toning). You can find this "colder" version in galleries "All snowflakes" and "Dark snowflakes".
Snowflake photos are available as stretched canvas prints, acrylic, metal, wood and framed prints, posters, greeting cards, Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy phone cases, throw pillows, duvet covers, shower curtains, tote bags, t-shirts, beach towels, portable battery chargers, carry-all pouches and coffee mugs. My collection includes over 100 macro photos of real snow crystals and constantly grows. Just click my name (above left) and see all snowflake images.
