This image combined from two photos of real snowflakes, captured in January 2013. These snow crystals have similar structure: fine symmetry of long, sharp and elegant arms with side branches and small icy "leaves". Both snowflakes have relatively small hexagonal centers.
These two photos with same background and lighting was easy to combine into one picture. You can find these snowflakes separately in galleries "All snowflakes" and "Dark snowflakes".
