Description
This large snowflake of fernlike dendrite type have interesting pattern of frozen rime bubbles, mostly condenced at ends of each arm. I also like it's transparent center, resembling dark flower.
Snow crystal was captured on dark woolen background with simple macro setup, containing camera Canon Powershot A650is and additional lens Helios 44, used as magnifier.
16 identical photos, taken as fast series, was averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio of this image. Lighting: only natural light from gray cloudy sky. Photo was taken December 2018 in Moscow, Russia.
