Description
This is single particle of "frozen rain", which i've encounter one year ago, in November 2016. These drops at high magnification looks interesting: many of them is not too symmetrical, but they are transparent, with nice surface features, and contain elegant arrays of air bubbles inside. Also, i like lighting: this is just diffused light of cloudy sky, but it shows all details of this drop very well.
I've captured four good photos of these drops within one hour, and several dozens of less interesting ones. Planned to process other icy raindrops soon.
9 identical RAW photos, taken as quick series, was aligned and averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio of this picture. Background: dark woolen fabric, natural light, external optics Helios 44M-5 used as additional magnifier; January 2013, Moscow.
Closeup snowflake pictures available for home decor, interior design and gifts as: stretched canvas prints, metal, acrylic, wood and framed prints, posters, greeting cards, phone cases for Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy, tote bags, t-shirts, carry-all pouches, coffee mugs, throw pillows, duvet covers, shower curtains, beach towels, portable battery chargers, yoga mats and spiral notebooks.
My collection includes over 100 macro photos of real snowflakes, and constantly grows. Just click my name (above left), and you'll see all images of snow crystals.
